Annual family vacations to Ireland were my introduction
to live music, spoken  performance and other cultures.
My Mother denied us television, insisted on radio and
playing great records of the time, Nat King Cole, Crosby
and Sinatra in particular,  thus feeding my young mind.
By twelve my focus was on escaping the tweed curtain by
going to sea like many of my relatives. At nineteen I began
an eight year saga of cruising the routes of the  whalers
and tea clippers, and experiencing  extra-ordinary people,
events and places, which since became my way of life.

My passion for music grew as the sixties unfolded.
I remember seeing The Beatles in their first post Germany
TV appearance, Liverpool was thirty five miles, Manchester
even closer. Donovan,  Moody Blues, Fleetwood Mac and
many others instilled in me a deep reverence for music
that I felt over all other art forms. Exploring Blues, Swing,
Chorale and Classical music elevated that connection and
'The Great Folk Scare" of the sixties  fuelled and facilitated
my desire  to perform.

'Good ears'  also gifted  me with  the ability to mimic
voices, recreate dialects, harvest monologues and
recycle great jokes hence my 'Spoken Word Theatre'
which has given me unique recognition.
Town Crying was a natural progression elevating my
acting writing and speaking skills as was my move into
'Reality Bending Events' read that as 'practical jokes'
for hire. Working Festivals, Clubs, Cabarets, and Cruise
Ships, since the sixties, I have been described as  a
'Troubadour Emeritus' offering a unique wealth of songs,
comedy and material, esthetically rich and uplifting.
I continue to travel and perform thereby combining my
two favorite vocations. favorite occupations.
